Why Girls Are Entering Puberty Earlier Than Ever

Here it is. Food we eat can be causing our daughters to mature a bit faster. It's better to know what is happening than to be in the dark. I feel that when it comes to our food we should know how it effects us and our children. I didn't realize that my own food I put in my mouth daily can get me sick. It's the truth though and I now want to share with all I am able to the effects. I have actually read many things saying that the fast food places have so many growth hormones in the food that with alot of on the go your children can reach puberty much faster. I Flex It

You have tried dieting and work out plans and the gym but it's so hard to stick to it and even harder to find someone to do it with and hold each other accountable. I have great news I have the best thing since sliced bread ha ha. The Fitbit is so awesome. it monitors all your activity, food, water and more but even better you can plug into your friends that have one and send messages or encourage eachother throughout the day and not even be with them. So when you look at your steps each day so can your friends and that is motivating. I have one and LOVE it. I find my self looking at it waiting to reach my 10k steps a day and will even run around the house or like I just did go for a walk run to meet my goal for the day. It even tracks your sleep. Check it out HERE. I plan to increase my steps soon to train for a 5 k. Super excited.

My breakdown in the grocery store



OK so many a times we can rush out of the house without a plan to eat and so that is where we fail and eat whatever. I have gotten int he habit of asking what is gluten free and so on the go this is one meal I get. At Chick-Fil-A you can order a grilled chicken wrap. The wrap is gluten free and all of their grilled products are as well to include the seasonings used. You can't do the dressings but I have attached a pdf below of the options. I will say this be careful on the carbs because when coming off of gluten you tend to want more of it.



Ok so how do you identify gluten on a label? This at first felt super overwhelming. FUNNY STORY... ok so like my title is true I broke down in the grocery store (Wegman's) I mean total tears and all. My husband had to come hold me. Mind you I had been so sick I was so through BUT knew the journey to get better would come at a serious cost.  I thought it would be super overwhelming and it wasn't. I chose to go cold turkey you may choose to do it a little slower. Any hoo, here is how you read labels. Basically the rule is if you can't understand it don't get it. You should be able to read the label and be familiar. Once you know it it's a second nature kind of thing. I will post soon about how to read food labels but for now you can read below and this CLICK HERE

Terms That Mean Gluten On Food Labels
  • Triticum vulgare (wheat)
  • Triticale (cross between wheat and rye)
  • Hordeum vulgare (barley)
  • Secale cereale (rye)
  • Triticum spelta (spelt, a form of wheat)
  • Wheat protein/hydrolyzed wheat protein
Ingredients That Always Contain Gluten
  • Wheat starch/hydrolyzed wheat starch
  • Wheat flour/bread flour/bleached flour
  • Bulgur (a form of wheat)
  • Malt (made from barley)
  • Couscous (made from wheat)
  • Farina (made from wheat)
  • Pasta (made from wheat unless otherwise indicated)
  • Seitan (made from wheat gluten and commonly used in vegetarian meals)
  • Wheat or barley grass (will be cross contaminated)
  • Wheat germ oil or extract (will be cross contaminated)

Ingredients That May Contain Gluten

Depending on the source, all of these ingredients potentially can contain gluten. The FDA does require food manufacturers to declare wheat-containing ingredients on their labels. However, other gluten-containing grains potentially could be used to make some of these ingredients.
You'll need to check with the manufacturer to find out for certain whether or not a food that includes one or more of these ingredients is safe on a gluten-free diet.
  • Vegetable protein/hydrolyzed vegetable protein (can come from wheat, corn or soy)
  • Modified starch/modified food starch (can come from several sources, including wheat)
  • Natural flavor/natural flavoring (can come from barley)
  • Artificial flavor/artificial flavoring (can come from barley)
  • Caramel color (now considered a safe ingredient, but if you're in doubt, check with the manufacturer)
  • Modified food starch
  • Hydrolyzed plant protein/HPP
  • Hydrolyzed vegetable protein/HVP
  • Seasonings
  • Flavorings
  • Vegetable starch
  • Dextrin and Maltodextrin (both sometimes made from wheat)

The Yeast BEAST




Thursday 9/18/2014

Today I can tell you I have to get better at the meal planning, Mostly for dinner. I find it hard sometimes because I do have to dedicate alot of time to cook things fresh when I have not planned right. I guess because I work from home I take for granted a couple of things but I am am getting busier so need to sit my but down and plan. For me searching for food on a budget has been interesting but I have found locals farms help and Wegmans. Food Lion surprisingly has a decent selection. I have also started shopping in bulk because I have a family of 5 and YES we are all on the journey together.

I did get my eggs delivered today though from a friend who has a farm.  I am also preparing for the Yeast detox which should be very interesting so I have slowly cut back on sugars. When you go through a gluten withdrawal you tend to want more junk. O man I make a wicked sinful gluten free chocolate cake now hahaha... Well on the yeast detox for 6 months I can't have sugar so I am preparing.

I WANT CANDY haha going through a gluten detox will help you lose weight but be careful you don't gain it back with junk. O man o man it makes you want my carbs and sweets. I am getting better but it is hard. For the yeast cleans I will not be able to do any junk so I will have to brace myself. I don't want to go on it until I finish Caging the beast by Jane Remington and I work on some recipes in The Yeast free kitchen. I have them below for you to look at and they are in the right side panel under books to read.

From Me To YOu

Hey everyone,

I will be posting on Monday's about my journey through the week and resourcing you. Make sure to share with others as that is the first step to awareness.

Here is my WHY



Hi, my name is Tanya Founder and CEO of God Girl Inc and God Girl TV where we show you how to break today’s media influence while restoring identity and relationship with your little girl by helping you discover easy practical methods and equipping you with healthy media. My journey is one that has taken me three years to be made real to me. What I mean is since 2010 I became the sickest I have ever been. Sure I had signs and symptoms along the way earlier but in 2010 enough was enough and I began seeking out a better way, I mean you are getting older can NOT be the answer . Who knew that I was causing my own health decline. I mean seriously I thought I was eating right and I actually trusted my grocery stores and health brands. The problem was even with trust I was tired all the time, joint pain, nausea when I ate, dizziness, fatigue, exhaustion, foggy brained and the list goes on.  What I was putting in my mouth was slowing killing me. 

The long story short I cut out gluten in August of 2014 and the transformation was nothing short of AMAZING. I found a great farm in VA called Slow Grown In Virginia and am now going to do a yeast cleanse.  My withdrawals were crazy I tell you crazy. Shakes, barely walking, cold sweats, migraines and more BUT it is a small price to pay. 

I wanted to start this blog because while I run God Girl Inc. I believe that health is vital to having a future. That is what made me begin this journey. You see those four people above? Well I wanted to spend my full life with them and enjoying every moment. I want you to have that too with your family. I will be blogging about my journey and resourcing you along the way.
